Chantal DiFlavio – Assistant Coach
Chantal DiFlavio is a mother of four and swimmer who became involved in the sport of competitive swimming because of her children. Wanting to help her children improve their techniques in the pool, she sought to understand the mechanics of swimming by becoming a NCCP certified coach. In 2013, Chantal completed Level 1 designed for coaches preparing entry level competitive swimmers for local and regional competitions. That year, she also began her coaching career at Blessed Trinity Secondary School as the swim coach.
Chantal, a French and Visual Art teacher at Blessed Trinity Secondary School in Grimsby has provided a positive sport experience for her athletes and the opportunity to achieve their full potential through the sport of competitive swimming. Her swim team of dedicated athletes has successfully qualified for the Southern Ontario Secondary School Association Championship (SOSSA) and for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations Championships (OFSAA) on numerous occasions.
With an equal love of swimming and teaching, Chantal’s priority is the health and well-being of her athletes. In 2015 she began her NCCP level 2 swim coach certification and is now working on completing her coaching portfolio.
Chantal is also a Swim Canada certified Official. She has completed the Level 1 clinic for Timekeeper and Safety Marshal and Level 2 for Judge of Stroke/Inspector of Turns and Chief Timekeeper.
Chantal is excited to start working with the Stoney Creek Aquatic team as an Assistant Coach. She will continue to coach responsibly, and will foster a positive self-esteem among her athletes.
